VIVA TLAXCALA! PDF Print E-mail

I am still here in Tlaxcala.... Yesterday I did my first long ride of 190 km :), and felt pretty good. Mexican food is really fucking good here, and it's starting to fit in my training really well. I am getting to know the team a little better now, and trying to get along with everybody, but it's been kind of hard since I am the only guy they don't know or haven't heard of. All the riders are cool, and we are gonna start hitting some mountains this week and see how it goes. Altitude is giving me a hard time at the moment, it's really high out here, and I am the only rider who comes from sea level, but it's cool, I don't mind getting drop right now.

A chat with Miguel Arroyo! PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 10 December 2005 05:40
Former Tour de France rider, and Greg Lemond's teammate had a chat with the team yesterday. He talked about some things he went through in cycling in order to get to that level. It was really interesting to see how a good rider thinks, and it was really cool to get some advices from him. I had so many questions, and things I wanted to say to him, but there wasn't that much time for that. So after the ¨conference¨, I asked him if I could talk with him personally this afternoon, and he was fine with that. I wrote the things I wanted to talk about with him last night, and I hope I get the info I am looking for. We actually rode with him today too. We are all having a good time right now. We haven't been riding that much though, only like 2-4 hours a day, and today we have freetime in the afternoon, and I will spend every second of it here in the internet :). If you want to know something about Miguel Arroyo or anything, just post it on my guestbook and I'll write a BLOG in your honor.

Whats up, We just arrived to Tlaxcala, Mexico yesterday. The whole team is here now, and everybody is ready to ride. The manager gave us new stems, some uniforms, water bottles, bikes, tires, and some other stuff. We did our first group ride today. It was around 100km, nothing hard, but a good way to get started. Roads are great over here, and the weather is nice too. There is mountains everywhere, and there is even a Volcano which we will climb in the last weeks. We are all getting along well togethere, but this is just getting started. The food is nice, and the place where we are staying is a big Motel with a big Olympic training center. We are going to be riding alot in the next few days, and doing some streching and other excersices. I have been taking some pics of what I've done so far, but ´'ll post them when I get back. Anyway, I'll be posting cooler blogs in the next few days, cause this one fucking sucks, but it's an update so here it is. bye

Giusseppe teaches me how to pedal... PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 05 December 2005 08:57
Hey, I just met a guy named Giusseppe. He is a former world champion, and he just teached me a very good pedaling technique. It's sort of the same as "PUSH AND PULL", but more efective... He even built a unique weight lifting machine that works with the bike on it. You connect the bike to the weight machine and you lift weigths pedaling going back and forward... It works really good, I haven't use it though, but all the guys that had, they improve alot really fast. Anyway, I took a picture of that thing, and I'll post it soon. I am pretty sure D-1 teams will start building their own if they see the pic on my website, but I am sure they won't look at my webiste... Anyway, it looks interesting, and thats what I learned today, and I like fucking learning, so I wanted to share it... bye.

All the team put a big effort into this, and I hope they keep it up. They team pretty much ahs there own OTC in Guadalajara, and it's even bigger and with alot more stuff. Anyway, right now I am writing form an Internet Cafe in Toluca. I am gonna stay here til Tuesday and then I'll head to Tlaxcala to another 3 week training camp at 9000 feet. I just wonder what Vitaly (The team coach) has in mind for us... I'll keep you posted. Luis
